The Axis Center of Excellence in Columbia, Maryland, the East coast presence of Axis Research & Technology, Inc. (Axis) based in Irvine, California, has been open for only a short time, but already they are gaining traction with the medical community in the area. Their state-of-the-art medical skills training facility is equipped to host everything from onsite to global training sessions.
By providing a full range of labs and educational facilities, Axis plans to fill a void.
There’s a lack of support in the time frame it takes to develop products and get them to market. We have a very creative way to expedite that which saves money and time and gets products in the hands of the people who need them sooner.
- Nick Moran, Chief Executive Officer and President of Axis
The company has focused on the surgical and medical training side of medical technology. “We do trainings all the way from medical students through brilliant surgeons,” says Moran. Work has been done on hearts, neurovascular, the brain and orthopedics, using all facets of the latest medical technology.
The 11,000-square-foot building in Columbia is designed and equipped for advances in medical and surgical education and research. To facilitate this, the space has also been designed to be flexible and multi-use. It includes a dining lounge and social space that is intended to accommodate large groups. This space can be used for a variety of events and catering is available.
